Frequently asked questions

Can I use music on an external or USB drive?

Yes. Add the folder as a library source. When the drive is unplugged its songs show as unavailable (they aren't removed from the library) and come back as soon as you plug it in, even if Windows gives it another drive letter.

Which formats does it play?

MP3, FLAC, AAC/M4A, Ogg Vorbis, Opus, WAV, AIFF, WMA, APE, WavPack, MKA and DSD (DSF/DFF).

How do I add synced lyrics?

Put an .lrc file with the same name as the song in the same folder (for example Song.mp3 and Song.lrc). Lyrics embedded in the file are read too. Turn them on with the lyrics button in Now playing.

I bought Pro and it doesn't show on another PC

Pro belongs to your Microsoft account. Sign in to Microsoft Store with the same account and open the app; it unlocks by itself.

How do I get a refund?

Purchases go through Microsoft Store, so refunds are requested from Microsoft in your Microsoft account's order history.

What is exclusive mode?

With Pro, UltimatePlayer can take the audio device for itself at each file's original format, bypassing the Windows mixer. While it's on, other apps can't play through that device. If it isn't possible (the device is busy or doesn't support the format), the app goes back to shared mode and tells you.

The music paused by itself

When wired or Bluetooth headphones disconnect, the music pauses so it doesn't come out of the speakers. You can turn this off in Settings.
